ABOUT PEPPERDINE'S
REELSTORIES FILM FESTIVAL

The ReelStories Film Festival is an annual celebration of student filmmaking and creative talent. Founded in 2010 by a group of students with a shared belief in the power of storytelling, this vibrant event offers fellow undergraduate filmmakers the opportunity to showcase impactful stories and convey powerful messages through the captivating art of short films.

At its core- at the very heart of its purpose- storytelling is connection. Stories serve as bridges between the past, the future, everything in between and beyond. They connect us to ourselves and to each other, traversing the distance of time, generations, cultures, and experiences to bring together life we share. They connect us to a vision, which then motivates action and invokes passion, fanning flames of innovation and imagination. This year, we chose the theme: “Storytelling is Connection” as we want to reminisce and celebrate the past fourteen years of RSFF while inspiring anticipation for what is yet to come through films that speak to storytelling’s essential role in connecting all aspects of life.
